The Heavy Equipment Mechanic position starts at $44.99 per hour. Georgia Pacific offers a generous benefits package including a quarterly bonus plan, medical/dental/vision, short-term disability, pension, and paid time off.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Maintaining mobile equipment on the Englehart site
• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures to include wearing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment
• Communicating effectively and respectfully while assisting crew members in a team environment
• Keeping work area clean, before, after, and throughout shift
• Maintaining all safety guards on equipment
• Following all lock out / tag out procedures to promote a safe working environment for all employees
• Performing assigned preventative maintenance tasks
• Entering and closing out work orders on the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Performing tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume environment

The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 421A or equivalent Mechanical Certification

What You Will Put Ahead

• Experience working in a machine shop or automotive shop
• Experience maintaining gas/diesel engines and forklifts
