Elementary Head Custodian                                       

Location:   Smooth Rock Falls Public School            

Start date:     As soon as possible        

Vacancy Details:    1.0  (Permanent/full-time, 40 hours/week - 7:00am to 3:00pm)

Position Summary:

Organize and supervise custodial staff cleaning areas, perform routine cleaning and other related tasks in order to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for students, staff and visitors.

Requirements:

 - Good computer skills (e-mail, data entry, online work orders)                                    

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.                                                                                      

- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and supervisors.                      

- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.                                                

- Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency, perform medium to heavy physical labor with assistance.

- Must have physical ability to perform medium to heavy work tasks.

- High School diploma or general degree (GED).

- Must have current, Board approved, WHMIS certificate.

- Experience in custodial work is preferred.

- Organize and implement work schedules and equalizing workload among all staff.

- Ability to set priorities and re-arrange staff schedules to accommodate emergencies.

 - Ability to direct and supervise custodial staff to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the facility.  

- Ability to understand and interpret work schedules, product directions, mixing ratios, and other instructions.
