EPC Canada is seeking a heavy trucks and coach mechanic for its explosive products manufacturing and distribution site in Ontario. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective mechanical work on various types of equipment, service vehicles and heavy machinery related to the production and delivery of explosives. She/He will also be accountable for establishing and maintaining effective liaisons and collaboration with colleagues and managers at their site and across other departments, sites, and functions.

Role & Responsibilities
· Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment (mechanical, hydraulic or electrical breakdown).
· Identify operating problems by investigating the cause and locating the source, carry out functional tests and make the necessary adjustments/repairs.
· Estimate the time and parts needed for the repairs to be carried out and purchase missing parts if necessary.
· Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
· Be in contact with and appoint the necessary contractors to carry out outsourced inspection work or any other specific work (e.g. welding or structural interventions).
· Work on the equipment of other EPC-Canada entities when they arrive on site with problems and resolve them so that they can get back on the road safely.
· Respond to mechanical emergencies to ensure the smooth running of operations.
· Create and monitor maintenance and inspection schedules (e.g. VK, VKI, VKPI).
· Create and manage a logbook for equipment repair and maintenance history.
· Maintain your own inventory of parts and produce monthly and annual accounts.
· Place orders for consumables following the requirements of the quote process.
· Ensure liaison and good communication with the centralized maintenance/vehicle service in Quebec.
· Actively participate, in collaboration with site management, in the budget preparation process for maintenance, repairs and vehicle purchases.
· Keep work areas clean and safe (workbench, garage, etc.).
· Perform other related duties.
Required Qualifications
· Hold a diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics, diesel mechanics or an equivalent field of study.
· Have 3 years or more experience in heavy vehicle mechanics or heavy machinery.
· Have a valid “G” driving license (mandatory) and Class D license (an asset).
· Have extensive knowledge in diesel combustion engines, DEF systems and vehicle air conditioning.
· Hold a Motor Vehicle Inspection Technicians (MVIS) Professional Certificate (an asset).
· Have good physical condition and the ability to climb (truck ladder) and handle loads that can vary between 5 kg and 25 kg.
· Have no legal impediment related to employment.

Conditions of Employment
· Permanent position, full time.
· Schedule of 40 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
· Occasional availability at the end of the day and weekend (for emergencies) and possibility of working overtime after 40 hours worked.
