Salary: $34.80
This is a fully on-site position in Timmins, Ontario. Timmins is a city located in Northeastern Ontario,
approximately 700 km north of Toronto.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Manager of Information and Communication Technology, the Information Technologist is responsible for the management and security of the NCDSB WAN & LAN network infrastructure that links our fourteen (14) sites, along with the management and operations of our compute, storage and backup infrastructure. This will also include the administration of Microsoft 365 services and applications. They will assist with the design and maintenance of the networks. They will provide guidance and suggest new technological solutions to ensure our network remains up to date and secure. They will be required to perform a variety of technical tasks in the maintenance, repair and provisioning of our networks, systems and services, along with any associated devices and applications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of a two-year college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Systems and/or Networking;
• A minimum of three years of experience in computer engineering, computer systems or networking;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to interact with people in a pleasant, professional, and reassuring manner;
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to deliver multiple projects in a timely manner;
• Collaboration skills with the ability to work independently or as a member of team
• Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license as travel between the remote sites may be required; and
• Accreditation in A+, CCNA, Cloud, CCNA Collaboration, CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Security and CCNA Wireless, and any Microsoft Azure certifications would be considered assets.
