Heath & Sherwood (1964) Limited an international engineering/manufacturing firm serving
the mineral processing and smelter equipment market seeks an applicant to fill the position
of Intermediate Accountant. This position reports directly to the Finance and Administration Manager and has the following responsibilities:

• Maintain the accounts receivable sub-ledger and coordinate along with the
administrative assistant to issue customer statements, post payments and
adjustments as well as assist with collection of accounts.
• Coordinate along with the administrative assistant and purchasing agent to maintain
the accounts payable sub-ledger, process weekly cheque run and review vendor
statements.
• Post journal entries for transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
• Process banking transactions and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly depreciation and maintaining fixed asset schedule.
• Assist with G/L account reconciliation.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements.
• Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, filing and photocopying.
• Performs other duties as required.

This position requires:
• A solid understanding of accounting procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong work ethic and positive team player.
• High attention to detail and standards of accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite, specifically Excel.
• Experience with Sage 300 and QuickBooks online considered an asset.
• Professional designation (CPA) or actively pursuing CPA designation considered an
asset.
