Position: Strength & Healing Coordinator
Department: Apitipi Anicinapek Nation Social Development
Program: National Native Alcohol & Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP)
Reports to: Director of Social Development
Position Summary:
The Apitipi Anicinapek Nation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support community wellness and provide culturally appropriate supports that strengthen healing, prevention, healthy living and aftercare.
Duties:
- Provide individual/group counselling and sharing circles to community members.
- Plan and deliver prevention, awareness, and wellness programs.
- Support referrals to detox and treatment centres
- Work with Elders, traditional healers, and land-based programs to integrate cultural approaches.
- Maintain confidential records, case notes, and reports.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/certificate in Addictions Counselling/Social Work.
- Must have 1 – 3 years experience in related field.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and holistic healing practices.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work with individuals and families with understanding and care.
- CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
- Valid G Drivers License and Clean Drivers Abstract
Employment Details:
- Full-time Position 8:30am to 4:00pm (hours may vary)
- Salary – Based on education and experience
- Based in Apitipi Anicinapek Nation
- Frequent Travel
