The Adult Learning Centre-Bookkeeper

The Iroquois Falls Adult Learning Centre is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll, submitting pension contributions, and maintaining accurate financial records to support the smooth operation of our Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all staff
- Prepare and submit pension contributions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Quickbooks accounting software
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial and payroll regulations
- Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, and other external partners as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
- Proficiency with accounting software QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of payroll processes and pension plan submissions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- A diploma or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred
Hours & Compensation:
- Part-time: approximately 10-15 hours per month, with some flexibility
- Hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
