Role:The Delivery Driver, Warehouse and Lubricants DZ position is all about versatility, from warehouse tasks to hitting the road and handling administrative duties. Exceptional customer service skills are a must as you deliver industrial supplies, lubricants, and petroleum products to a diverse range of clients within a 150 km up to 300 km radius. Safety is our top priority as you navigate predetermined routes in a variety of commercial vehicles (manual or automatic delivery truck/transit van/5-ton cube truck with pump). But it's not just about driving – this role offers diversity with assisting with warehouse duties, including receiving, storing, picking orders, and general maintenance of the warehouse. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Delivery: Drive to various commercial and residential customer locations to deliver warehouse products (industrial supplies, lubricants in pails, totes, and bulk) to customers. Operate box truck while adhering to all regulations of the Highway Traffic Act while driving by maintaining an accurate daily logbook, using an Electronic Logging device. Offload the orders using the truck tailgate, pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks.
Administrative Tasks: Complete and submit TDG documents, Bills of Lading, delivery tickets, and trip summaries. Utilize technology for precise documentation of customer services rendered, ensuring accurate data capture and billing.
Safety Compliance and Regulations:Maintain a thorough understanding of, and strictly adhere to the Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations to ensure the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials. Respond and report appropriately to any emergency situations that arise. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Secondary Tasks: When time allows, assisting with warehouse tasks such as assembling and loading orders, receiving, and putting away products, taking inventory and assisting with on-going housekeeping. Function as backup to the primary Fuel Delivery Drivers during planned and unplanned absences.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Location: Preferably lives in Hearst, ON or other nearby areas.
Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-14 hours per day.
Travel Requirement: 75% during the scheduled shift. Rare but occasionally overnight stays.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class DZ license and clean driver’s abstract required.
Physical Requirements: Able to perform tasks associated with loading and offloading of products, including lifting, and pulling of boxes, drums, barrels, and hoses for bulk products. Able to lift and carry; or push and pull items from 20 to 50 lbs. The job also demands stamina for long hours of driving, and the physical demands of loading and unloading cargo.
Experience: Minimum of 1-year commercial driving experience preferred. Familiarity with industrial supplies and lubricant products is an asset.
Technology:Ability to use a smart phone to conduct basic administrative tasks.
Skills: Defensive driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations with a strong commitment to safety. Working proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Mechanically inclined to detect basic malfunctions on truck being operated. Safety, service, and savings mindset.
