The Lavender Fox is a specialty destination tearoom housed in one of the last remaining mining headframes in the Historic Town of Cobalt. We serve a selection of some of the finest tea from around the world, organic & fairtrade coffee, house-made seasonal desserts, savoury snacks, and high-end cocktails. Our retail shop is also fully stocked with gourmet grocery items, Canadian-made products, imported pantry staples, and specialty tea wares.

We are looking for serious candidates eager to learn and expand their skills to join our team with both front of house and back of house positions available.

Front of House

This role is fast-paced and requires strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask.

With the right candidate, over time, we will provide intensive tea training, including guidance through tea cuppings, tea history, tea production and a focus on tea-producing countries.

This job role includes, but is not limited to:
Serving our guests in an efficient, professional and welcoming manner.
Being knowledgeable, confident, and excited about our menu and the products we sell.
Inventory management
Being organized while keeping our space clean and beautiful.
Working with teammates to achieve goals and complete tasks.


Back of House

This role includes, but is not limited to:
Preparing and assembling savoury plates such as house-made dips and sandwiches. Our menu changes monthly, requiring you to learn new recipes and prepare items efficiently and thoughtfully.
Inventory management
Washing dishes (for both front of house and kitchen), polishing glassware, and putting dishes away.
Being organized while keeping our space clean and beautiful.
Working with teammates to achieve goals and complete tasks.
Basic kitchen prep (fruit prep, assembling dry mixes, assisting with afternoon tea)

• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and problem solve while thinking on their feet
• Ability to communicate with a variety of guests
• Ability to work in a team setting with strong communication skills
• Desire to learn and grow within this role.
• Food Handlers and Smart Serve is mandatory (we will work with the right candidate to obtain these certifications if needed)
