Health Programs Coordinator
Full-Time- 35 Hours per week
(Beaverhouse Band Members and Indigenous Persons will be given priority)
Following the Mission Statement of Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office is seeking a dedicated and
motivated Health Programs Coordinator to lead and support the delivery of culturally appropriate,
community-based health services. Reporting to the Health Director, the Coordinator will oversee
health promotion programs and other wellness initiatives. This position plays a vital role in promoting
health and wellness through direct support, education, community engagement, service coordination, and culturally grounded programming for families, children, and youth.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and deliver health programs and other community health and wellness
initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops, community events, and group sessions that promote healthy
pregnancies,
parenting, childhood nutrition, and prevention of FASD.
• Coordinate the daily operations of the Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care (IELCC)
program.
• Conduct client intakes, family support planning, and referrals to other community
services.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to enhance program delivery
and outcomes.
• Promote culturally safe and supportive environments for programming in office and
land-based settings.
• Maintain accurate documentation including attendance, reports, forms, and incident
reports.
• Participate in training, workshops, and professional development as required.
• Support community members in navigating health systems and accessing external health
services.
• Maintain confidentiality and build positive relationships with clients, families, and
partners.
• Assist with funding applications and completing required reports.
• Collect and track program data for evaluation and reporting.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Health, Social Services, Early Childhood Education, or a related
field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in health promotion, family support, or community health
coordination.
• Experience delivering group activities, workshops, and one-on-one client support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be flexible to work some evenings and weekends.
• Able to travel for training or workshops as mandated by funding bodies.
Assets
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
• Valid First Aid/CPR
• Mental Health First Aid
• Knowledge of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous services and supports in the region
• Experience with case conferencing, service coordination, and health data tracking
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture, values, traditions, and community health challenges.
Salary:
• Based on education and experience
