Reporting to the Manager, Quality, Strategy and Analysis, the Library Clerk will provide efficient operation and responsive services to clients of the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).

What you will be doing:

  • Assist with the daily operations of the print and non-print circulation unit as well as any required audio-visual equipment;
  • Provide reference services for users;
  • Provide information on and awareness of the LRC services and resources to the college community;
  • Assist with the implementation of electronic library resources;
  • Liaise with faculty members as required to support curriculum needs
  • Monitor and maintain LRC computer lab, photocopiers, seminar areas, viewing area, and related equipment within the LRC area;
  • Invigilate exams for students by setting up test rooms and equipment as required, and ensuring that students follow the agreed exam procedures according to exam requirements;
  • Create accounts and assignments in MIS for student library clerks, as well as peers and community tutors college wide;
  • Coordinate and conduct mandatory LRC training for new student library clerk employees
  • Organize student library clerk schedules and assign tasks for manager review and approval
  • Contact faculty for community and peer tutor recommendations and match and assign tutors to students;
  • Assist new tutor hire through the College mandatory training and onboarding; and
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the Tutoring Program's guidelines, and support materials

What you will need to be considered:

  • Two (2) year Diploma in Office Administration, Library Technician or a related/relevant field;
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a library setting; and experience in cataloguing; and
  • Familiarity with integrated library systems.

The successful candidate will be detail orientated, adaptable and well organized. They will also have good customer service skills, communication skills, and time management skills.
