Work Schedule: 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience and qualifications.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Loadout Operator to join our Metallurgical department. Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the weighing and tracking of all outgoing shipments at the truck scale. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate measurements while adhering to safety and quality standards. Please note that this is not a camp-based position.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effectively operate the truck scale; weigh outgoing shipments.
• Collect representative samples from outgoing concentrate shipments.
• Communicate courteously and professionally with all truck drivers.
• Review information provided by truck drivers to ensure accuracy.  
• Implement and recommend methods for loadout efficiency.
• Organize trucks efficiently for loading on the truck scale.
• Monitor weights to prevent truck overloads.
• Accurately enter truck and shipment information into computer database.
• Ensure equipment reports are completed at the start of each shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the truck-scale and concentrate conveyors.
• Perform snow removal of truck scale as needed.
• Proficiently operate a two-way radio when required.
• Work in compliance with prescribed company policies and procedures.
• Be proactive with company safety initiatives.
• Additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Supervisor and/or Engineering personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mill Common Core is an asset.
• Ability to maintain high-quality standards in documentation and operation processes.
• Basic understanding of sampling procedures is highly regarded.

• Capable of performing physical tasks in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
