The Municipality of Val Rita-Harty is recruiting a dynamic, community-focused leader to serve as our Manager of Municipal Services & Enforcement (MMSE). About the Role

The MMSE is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of:

·         Public Works

·         Emergency and Fire Services

·         Recreation and Facility Operations

·         Bylaw Enforcement

·         Volunteer Programs

This stand-alone management role serves as a key operational leader, promoting the municipality’s mission, vision, and values while delivering services in line with Council-approved levels and community expectations. You’ll work closely with a small but dedicated team of municipal staff, external experts and volunteers to ensure services are safe, efficient, and responsive to local needs.

What You Bring

·         Strong leadership and supervisory experience in a municipal or public-sector environment.

·         Demonstrated understanding of municipal operations, infrastructure, and service delivery.

·         Proven experience in enforcement of laws/bylaws, public works, facilities, or emergency services.

·         Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.

·         Ability to adapt and thrive in a flexible, evolving work environment.

Qualifications

·         Post-secondary education in Public Administration, Civil/Environmental Technology, Fire Services, or a related field.

·         Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal or public operations.

·         Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s Licence.

·         Certifications in First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, and MLEO (or willingness to obtain).

·         Asset: CMM designation, Fire Services credentials, recreation/facility training, or asset management experience.
