Kirkland Lake Forest Products is currently seeking a Millwright.
Qualifications include:
Ø Minimum 1 year’s relevant work experience; Red Seal experience is an asset but not required.
Ø Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Ø Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ø Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
Ø Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Ø Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ø Ability to work in a team environment
Ø Physically fit with ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ø Must be able to work from heights on ladders, scaffold, stairs and roof tops
Ø Experience in electric arc and oxyacetylene cutting and welding, brazing, soldering and heat treatment of metals
Ø Thorough understanding of the principals, standard methods, technology, materials and tools used in the Millwright trade.
Millwright Job Description:
Ø The Millwright, being responsible to and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and indirectly to the Production Supervisor, will carryout pre-scheduled and as needed maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the plant’s physical equipment.
Ø The Millwright will apply their knowledge and considerable skills in troubleshooting, fabricating and welding at all levels of the plant’s performance including: tooling, full and partial operational periods and during maintenance shut down.
Ø In addition to the tasks as described in the “Millwright Job Description”, the Millwright will possess a full and functional understanding of the Finger Joint Operator position, in order to assume those functions on a rotating basis as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Millwright will be on the 5-5-4 rotation with 12 hours shifts from 7 to 7.
