Required Qualifications:
· Completion of a recognized Addiction Service Workers Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Completion of course: Concurrent Disorders Certificate Program (CAMH) or other recognized post-secondary concurrent disorders training
· Global Appraisal of Individual Need (GAIN Q3 MI ONT) certification
· Safe Food Handler Certification
KEY FUNCTION:
The Program Worker is responsible for the provision of quality Concurrent Disorder care to the patients of the Withdrawal Management Services, Safe Bed and Camillus Programs through the provision of care for individuals seeking to safely withdraw from alcohol and/or drugs and begin the recovery process. This will include performing admission registration and discharge of patients, screening, assessment, reassessment, case management, withdrawal monitoring, the provision of recovery-based education to residents and families, assisting them to determine appropriate treatment interventions, and plan and facilitate transfers to community-based, short, and long-term treatment programs.
The Program Worker will establish effective interpersonal relationships with patients and co-workers, facilitate individual and group psycho-educational sessions, monitoring of medications, provide crisis support and intervention, maintain accurate records of all activities, manage activities such as meal set-up, general housekeeping tasks, supply inventory and ordering, supervises the residential environment to ensure overall maintenance of a safe, clean, and orderly environment for patients, staff and visitors. Observe required maintenance issues and requisition submission.
This position will participate in service committees and quality improvement initiatives as assigned to promote patient safety and ensuring the care, welfare, safety, and security of the work environment.
