Magris Talc is a leading Talc producer operating mines and processing plants in the United States and Canada.

We are currently seeking to add a Utility 2 Packaging Operator to our Operations team at our Timmins Micronizing Plant in Timmins. This is a Unionized, full time and permanent position. This role requires rotational 12 hour shift work, days and nights and requires flexibility for shift scheduling. 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The preferred candidate for this position will have mill processing experience with a desire for growth in skills and abilities within the operations. 

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Fully supports the location health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with Corporate programs and policies. 
• Bags and palletizes the products designated, using the correct skid sizes, glue, bag types, strapping, bag weights, stretch wrap, bag piling pattern, and customer codes as designated by the Company's product specifications and in accordance with its ISO certification. 
• Bags semi-bulk bags to the correct weight using proper customer codes in accordance with the Company's product specifications as required by its ISO certification. 
• Maintains neat and accurate production records.
• Maintains a ready supply of skids, paper bags, semi-bulk bags, bag glue and other production materials at his/her workstation. 
• Ensures that all finished pallets are neat and secure, by removing dust and product spillage and applying stretch wrap with the portable stretch wrap machine after having squeezed the pallet in the pallet press and applies glue, manually if necessary. 
• Must be capable of learning operational equipment, specifically the operation of forklift and necessary Laboratory test equipment for in-process quality product testing.   
• Uses a forklift truck to move finished pallets to the warehouse and stores them in a safe, efficient and orderly manner.
• Demonstrates ability to read and understand packaging orders, procedures, records, etc. 
• Maintains records, housekeeping, assigned work area(s).
