Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites and roadwork areas. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for directing traffic, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting with the overall flow of operations on site.
Duties
- Direct and manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites to ensure safety.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians to provide clear instructions.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as necessary to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure that work zones are safe and compliant with regulations.
- Report any incidents or hazards immediately to site supervisors.
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required, including paving and building tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience in traffic control or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
